Casa do Mestre is ideally situated in the heart of the Algarve, which is famous for its scenic coastline, sandy beaches and golf courses. The Algarve is one of the most popular holiday destinations in southern Europe benefiting from year round sunshine. Even in winter the afternoon temperature usually reaches a pleasant 15 c [60 f].

Within easy driving distance of Casa do Mestre there are wide range of fantastic days out for all the family.

The Algarve offers miles of sandy beaches, delightful walks in the foothills of Monchique, jeep safaris, horse riding, big game fishing, cruises along the coastline viewing rock formations and caves. There are also a variety of water parks and zoos to visit, plus many places of historical interest such as Silves (below right) with it's imposing Moorish castle, only a short drive away . As a golfing destination the Algarve has an exceptional variety of courses within easy reach. The nearest golf course to the villa is just a few minutes away at Salgados with many more not too far away.

There is a famous wetlands nature reserve next to the Salgados golf course just a short walk away from the villa, Lagoa dos Salgados (Pera Marsh) which has become a mecca for birdwatchers. There are also several paths and trails leading from the Quinta where you are likely to encounter some of Portugals unique wildlife.
